There are a number of gambling support services that can
provide specialised counselling to people from culturally and
linguistically diverse communities or who would like to access help
using a language other than English.
Some gambling services offer multi-lingual gambling counsellors
from various culturally and linguistically diverse communities and,
can provide counselling services in some languages other than
English.
Telephone Interpreter Service (TIS) on 131 450 can enlist the
help of an interpreter to call the Helpline in your state. The
interpreter can access information from gambling help or be on the
phone with you so you can begin the counselling process with the
counsellor.
Alternatively, call the Helpline on 1800 858 858 and ask the
counsellor to organise an interpreter through the Telephone
Interpreter Service.
Help services aim to provide support, information and referral
to all clients in a culturally sensitive manner.
